Rare Breeds Of The Year Show 2013

The Rare Breeds of the year Show took place at Bury Farm Equestrian Centre, New Bury Farm, Slapton, Bucks on 27th /28th September.  Heather Ketley was the judge with Liz Worthy as Steward. The Cleveland Bay classes were held on the Friday, with the Rare Breeds Championship taking place on the Saturday together with a display by two Cleveland Bays.  Jane Moore’s Team Jemoon had a very successful trip from North Yorkshire and returned home with rosettes a plenty!

On the Saturday the Rare Breeds Championship took place, with Pamela Shipley’s Barbarian Buccaneer (Buck) and Linda & Phil Thomson’s youngster Tregoyd Given going forward. This was Given’s first time in an indoor arena and she was an absolute star, taking it all in her stride.  Pamela and Buck went on to win the CB Championship and so into the final in the evening.  Although beautifully presented with lots of favorable comments the overall championship went to the Fells.

The Cleveland Bays also gave a wonderful display on the Saturday evening.  Pure bred Barbarian Buccaneer ridden by owner Pamela Shipley and the part bred Saintlucie Celina Isolina owned by Rowena Scrimshaw, who was ridden under side saddle by Jane Harper.

The entries were down for the Cleveland Bays which was possibly down to moving the CB classes to the Friday, but it was nice to see some new horses out.
