Sue Cutts of Folds Farm
Message from Liz Worthy, Chair CBHS.
"I am sorry to say that Sue Cutts of the Folds Stud passed away on Saturday 11th April.
Sue was a long time supporter and breeder of Cleveland Bays having worked in her younger years for the Mackay-Smith family at the famous Farnley Stud in USA, with both their Cleveland Bays and ponies.
I can hardly remember a time when she has not been involved in some way with the breed in this country, in the Southern Breeders Club, supporting the Cleveland Bay at shows and displays such as the Royal Show, and on Council guiding the Society.
She has bred some wonderful horses including the pure mare Folds Veronica, so succesful in the show ring, and some wondeful part breds which have qualified and represented us at the Horse of the Year Show.
My personal memories of Sue include our visit to the USA and of the respect shown to her by all her friends and colleagues over there. Sue introduced me to the Mackay-Smith family and we attended one of the CBHSNA AGM's and their annual show. We had a wonderful time, sadly tainted by the events of 9/11, and I will always remember that my first and most memorable visit was made extra special by Sue. She was a wonderful and brave lady and we will miss her.
On behalf of the CBHS I would like to say how sorry we are and offer her family our support in any way we can."
