HBLB Supports The Cleveland Bay

HBLB Grant Aid

The Cleveland Bay Horse Society is once again very grateful to the Horserace Betting Levy Board (HBLB) for the award of our Grant.  This is to be used to support a range of activities undertaken by the Society and breeders.  Due to bad weather in January the Council meeting which would have ratified the current ideas for use of the grant this year was not able to take place.  Therefore Council have taken the step of publishing the proposals prior to formal agreement which is now scheduled for 17th March 2013.  The document is available to download from the Members area of the website.

We have tried to spread the grant through as many activities as possible with the largest reward going to those members who breed and register pure bred foals.  We would ask breeders to register their foals as soon as possible so that the rewards can be passed on without delay.  Stallion owners are also requested to comply with the rules of returning covering certificate counterfoils as soon as possible after the breeding season but by 31st October at the latest.

Members are encouraged to put colts forward for licence and/or the award of QA status as soon as appropriate to enable the breed assessors to plan a timely inspection route.  Mares are also eligible to apply for QA status after producing a live foal.  Rules are available to download or view on the website at www.clevelandbay.com or by contacting the office during opening hours on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.

The link to the SPARKS sheets kindly prepared by Dr Andy Dell as an aid to Breeders is also available on the website.

CBHS Council continues to work closely with HBLB and Rare Breeds Survival Trust and is very grateful for their continued financial support.
