CBHS President 2018-2019

Maggie Brown has worked tirelessly for the Cleveland Bay breed for almost 50 years and it is a fitting tribute that she has been appointed President for the CBHS.

Maggie learnt about Cleveland Bays and their breeding from the elders of the breed, Marygold Nixey, Ruth Kitching, David Keenleyside and Jack Welford, so she has certainly 'served her time' with the greats.  She has dedicated her life to working for our breed.

Maggie worked for Marygold Nixey since her school days until Marygold passed away.  By this time she had her own pures, the most successful being Forest Favourite Girl.  Maggie has won the major trophies with FFG and her offspring registered under her Ditchley prefix.  Maggie is a judge and has a very good eye for movement, soundness and conformation.  She is a traditionalist in her choice of horse and has attended shows up and down the country since junior school.

On Council Maggie is currently chair of the Show Committee and runs the Performance Scheme.  She has worked hard getting and keeping classes at many shows.  Her latest success is that there will be pure CB classes at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2019.
Wishing Maggie an enjoyable and successful year as our President.
